  NEW CD RELEASE
For his new recording with orchestra, Antoine Tamestit chose the most significant work of the Viola repertoire : Hector Berlioz' Harold in Italy.
An innovating Masterpiece of orchestral and concerto music, where the Viola takes over the role of Harold, a romantic and passionate character.
Like Paganini at the time, who commissioned the work to Berlioz, Antoine Tamestit plays his Stradivarius Viola, in a concert recorded with Marc Minkowski and Les Musiciens du Louvre - Grenoble at the Palace of Versailles in april 2011.

  STRADIVARIUS
Antoine TAMESTIT feels privileged to play the Viola "Mahler", built by Antonio Stradivarius in 1672. It is the first Viola from the hand of the great Italian Master. Its state of conservation is extraordinary and its warmth of tone can only be matched by the beauty of its varnish.

It is generously loaned by the Habisreutinger Foundation.
